(May 1, 2012) Jewlicious is proud to present NYC based Soulfarm with Grammy Award winner C Lanzbom, and for the second annual Jewlicious Concert Series, May 31st, at 8pm pm. This special concert series features nationally recognized independent artists for an intimate and rocking musical experience that won’t break the bank. Thanks to sponsors Asahi beer, concert goers can enjoy a $2 beer, and tickets for the show start at $10.

Soulfarm was founded in Israel by Grammy Award winner lead guitarist C Lanzbom and guitarist and lead singer Noah Solomon Chase. Their sound has been dubbed as New American music, full melodic song writing and progressive modern arrangements. Their live shows are full of Mediterranean flavor with captivating guitar leads, dance rhythms and strong percussion breaks. Soulfarm has a wide range of influences from rock and Latin, to Hebrew and Celtic folk music.

Soulfarm has recorded with many well-known musicians such as Perry Farrel and Dispatch; and has opened for Bruce Hornsby, Shawn Colvin, The Wailers, and George Clinton, to name a few. They regularly sell out national venues, and tour extensively in the U.S. and Europe.

Tickets for the Jewlicious Concert Series can be purchased online for $10 at jewliciousfestival.com or for $15 at the door, space permitting. Show begins at 8pm. The Joint is located at 68771 West Pico Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90035. The shows are for adults 18+. The phenomenal actress and PhD in Neuroscience Mayim Bialik (Blossom, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Big Bang Theory), the most upbeat band in LA, The Aggrolites (Coachella, Vans Warped Tour, SXSW) and two of America’s funniest men, Todd Barry (The Wrestler, Louie, Flight of the Conchords, Letterman, Conan) and Moshe Kasher (2009 iTunes comic of the year, Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Lately). Amazing musicians Moshav and Dustbowl Revival will be playing sets as well!

What did YOU do last weekend?

I have no clue about you, but I do know how about 150 college students and young adults spent the weekend at the 2nd Annual Camp Jewlicious at the Brandeis Bardin Institute in Simi Valley, CA. They swam, rode mountain bikes, climbed walls, rappelled, rode horses, tie dyed t-shirts, enjoyed Shabbat, had some great conversations, enjoyed some excellent speakers, made candles, baked challah, enjoyed some great music and generally partied like rock stars. Well, I mean if rock stars partied on lush 3000 acre properties amongst pheasants, squirrels, lizards and coyotes.

Camp Jewlicious was fun, meaningful and a great experience all around. Big ups go out to our entertainers: Rav Shmuel, Natan Winkler, Mikey Pauker, Josh Kramon, Hyim and DJ Shachar; Big ups also to our staff and volunteers as well as the staff at Brandeis Bardin. But mostly, a big thanks to our participants. OK, I know that’s kind of odd. I mean we worked hard and they reaped the benefits by simply showing up and enjoying the program, so why thank them? I guess it’s because we work hard for them, and when they show up and enjoy themselves, it’s like instant validation, a direct shot of dopamine to our collective cerebral cortex.
